Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: Are your direct thermal labels BPA/BPS-free and phenol-free? +

A: DT Eco is BPA-free. DT Top-coated grades are produced without bisphenol chemistry, so they are BPA-, BPS-, and phenol-free. If you need phenol-free media, choose Top-coated DT (data sheets available on request).

Q2: Will these work with my printer? +

A: Yes — 102 × 100 mm is a near-square format compatible with both desktop and industrial thermal printers. Choose the right core size: 25 / 38 mm for desktop units such as Zebra GK420D / ZD421, or 76 mm for industrial printers such as Zebra ZT410 / ZT411.

Q3: Are 102 x 100 mm labels waterproof? +

A: Direct thermal paper isn’t waterproof. For outdoor, chemical or long-term durability, choose Thermal Transfer synthetics (polypropylene or polyester) printed with a wax-resin or resin ribbon.

Q4: Which adhesive should I choose for freezers or temporary use? +

A: Use Freezer-grade permanent for chilled or sub-zero environments, and Removable for temporary or repositionable labelling (e.g. retail, totes, or warehouse bins).
Compatibility: Freezer adhesive is available with Top-coated DT and TT Paper; Removable is not available with TT Polyester or Tamper-evident materials.

Q5: Do you offer this label in other sizes? +

A: Yes — we supply many alternatives, including 100 × 100 mm, 101.6 × 152.4 mm (4×6″) and 150 × 100 mm. Custom dimensions are also available to order.

Q6: How do I know which material or adhesive is best? +

A: Tell us about your printer, application and environment in the enquiry form. We’ll recommend the most suitable material, adhesive and print method for your needs.
