Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: Are your direct thermal labels BPA/BPS-free and phenol-free? +

A: DT Eco is BPA/BPS-free. DT Top-coated is BPA/BPS-free and phenol-free. If you specifically require phenol-free media, choose Top-coated DT (data sheets available on request).

Q2: Will these work with my printer? +

A: Yes — 100 × 50 mm is a medium-format label compatible with most desktop and industrial printers. Select the correct core size: 19 mm (portable), 25 mm / 38 mm (desktop — Zebra GK420D / ZD421), or 76 mm (industrial — Zebra ZT series).

Q3: Are 100 x 50 mm labels waterproof? +

A: Direct Thermal paper isn’t waterproof. For moisture, abrasion or chemical resistance, choose Thermal Transfer synthetics (polypropylene or polyester) printed with a wax-resin or resin ribbon.

Q4: Which adhesive should I choose for freezers or temporary use? +

A: Use Freezer-grade permanent for chilled or sub-zero environments, and Removable for short-term or repositionable labelling (e.g. retail).
Compatibility: Freezer is offered with Top-coated DT and TT Paper; Removable is not available with TT Polyester or Tamper-evident materials.

Q5: Do you offer this label in other sizes? +

A: Yes — we manufacture a wide range of thermal printer label sizes, from compact 50.8 × 25.4 mm up to large 100 × 150 mm formats, as well as custom sizes made to order.

Q6: How do I know what type of label I need? +

A: Tell us about your printer, environment and application in the enquiry form — we’ll recommend the best print method, material and adhesive for your use case.
